Popular Holiday Gifts For Women

!±8± Popular Holiday Gifts For Women

Each year when the holiday season rolls around it seems to come at an even quicker pace then the year before.  By the time December 24th hits, many men find themselves frantically rushing out to the stores in hopes of finding that perfect gift for their wife, girlfriend, daughter or female co-worker.  It can be a tough task because men and women don't always want the same gifts, but luckily this article will give some ideas about popular gifts that women might like to receive.

If money isn't an issue, then jewelry is the one gift that is always popular for the women on your holiday gift list.  Earrings, a bracelet or necklace will definitely put a smile on her face for the holidays.  Women also love clothes, but choosing their sizes and styles might be difficult, so opt for the gift cards to the stores.  She'll be much happier because she can choose exactly what she wants from her favorite clothing store.  It's been suggested in recent times that women don't mind receiving items for the kitchen, although in the past this might have resulted in some angry looks on Christmas day.  Some of the other gifts women might like to receive are stress-relief items, special bath soaps, perfumes and electronic gadgets.  For example if she has an MP3 player, cell phone, desktop or laptop computer, then maybe the right accessory will be a perfect gift for the holidays.  As mentioned with clothes, you might opt for just giving her a gift card or two, but some people prefer giving (and receiving) a physical product as a gift.

Of course the best way to get a gift for the female(s) on your holiday shopping list is to pay attention.  Something men get in trouble over a lot is failing to listen.  If she's given you her holiday wish list, then your job's been made even easier than most; you won't need to do any guessing about what she wants.  Just make sure to beat the rush at the stores, rather than waiting until the last possible minute!

Multi Tools - The Basics

!±8± Multi Tools - The Basics

Earlier, the choice of the multi tools or oscillating tools was not wide. After the patent rights are over, several brands and manufacturers are coming out with the latest tools. Some of the popular names in this domain include Dremel Multi-Max Blades and Fein Multimaster Blades. Here you will learn about the basic aspects of these oscillating tools and their usefulness.

The functionality of these tools is performed by the rotating action (back and forth) of the tool's blade, which is very swift. This makes the tools easy to handle, safer and much in-control. Some users also say that if you put your finger on the blade, then also you will not get any harm. However, if it is a fact or not, it is debatable, but it can be undoubtedly said that the multi tools like Dremel Multi-Max Blades and Fein Multimaster Blades are quite safe and user-friendly.

What is the usability of these oscillating tools? Actually, these multi tools are suitable for any type of trade. The reason is simple; these tools are eligible to cut varied materials such as copper, steel, laminate, drywall, plywood, plastic, and any type of other material.

One of the most popular usages of these tools includes flush cutting. Therefore, you can easily use these tools for the purpose of nail, stud, pipe or anything off flush to the floor/wall. Moreover, you can use these tools in the flooring job such as installation of tile, Liberty Capital Group, laminating floor, etc. With the right type of cutting blade such as Fein Multimaster Blades and Dremel Multi-Max Blades, cutting out the grout in-between the tiles or installing flooring by cutting the door jamb gets smoother.

These multi tools have different usages apart from just doing the cutting jobs perfectly. You can make use of such tools for detail sanding. However, it may not be a perfect alternative for a specialized orbital sander, in spite of that it can reach into the tight areas because of the sanding pads of different shapes. Therefore, the tool can be used for different applications in addition to its usage as a cutter.

If you are interested to purchase any of these tools, you will get ample of choices to decide upon. The oscillating tools are available in corded as well as cordless versions. Before you opt for a particular tool, you have to determine for what purpose who want to buy it and your budget. There are multi tools of various price ranges, but you should judge the quality and usability before making the purchase. One of the best ways to find a reasonably cost oscillating is visiting the site of Amazon and search for these products. Then compare the prices of the products and also read the reviews. Invest money only when you are satisfied with the features and the price tag of the tool.

Fein Power Tools - How to Increase the Lifespan of Your Fein Multimaster Blades

!±8± Fein Power Tools - How to Increase the Lifespan of Your Fein Multimaster Blades

The Fein Multimaster is one of the best multipurpose power tools on the market, but many people find that Fein Multimaster blades are fragile and wear out very quickly. Even owners of rivals to Fein power tools, like the Bosch Multi-X, Rockwell Sonicrafter, and Dremel Multi-Max have the same complaint. The problem seems to be a side-effect of the special technology which gives these power tools their ability to make precisely controlled cuts.

The use of a special oscillating motor to vibrate the blades of these multimaster tools forces certain structural limitations on the blades used. Unlike the rotary motor of older or cheaper multipurpose power tools, the Fein Multimaster blade needs to be stiffer so that it can be vibrated at up to 21,000 oscillations per minute. This extra stiffness and other limits make the blades more fragile, wear out more quickly and more expensive to produce.

However, despite these design limitations, there are several ways to make the blades of your Fein power tools last longer. These tips also apply to other brands of multimaster tools. The first rule is to remember that Fein power tools are not meant for large volume jobs. For example, if you need to cut lots of wood, the Milwaukee Sawzall is almost always a better choice. Or if you need to cut a lot of holes in a lot of drywalls, you should be using the Bosch Rotozip spiral saw. Whenever there is a specialty tool available, use it, not the Fein Multimaster (Bosch Multi-X, Rockwell Sonicrafter, or Dremel Multi-Max).

The second important rule is to use the right blades or accessories. Too many people use only the carbide blade whenever they need to cut anything hard. However, sometimes you need something even harder - the diamond blade. And while the standard E-blade is a good general purpose blade, there are times you want to use the wood blade when you know you will not hit anything hard, or the HSS blade if you know there are a lot of nails or other metal bits embedded in the wood you are cutting. Fein makes many different blades for different purposes, so check the user manual or call their help line if you have any doubts.

The third rule is to use the right cutting technique. If you look at new power tool users (even regular power tools), they tend to apply too much pressure to the materials they are cutting. It almost seems like they are hammering a nail or chopping wood with an axe. Unfortunately, this is a habit that they never break. This is the sort of thing that quickly wears out blades. But when you look at a seasoned craftsman, whether amateur or professional, you can see that he is almost gentle in using his Fein power tool. He lets the multimaster blade work its own way through the material he is cutting, applying only enough force to control the direction of the cut.

These are the three simplest rules you need to remember to get more use out of your Fein Multimaster blades. Not only that, but it will place less strain on the motor of your Fein power tools.

2 Best Detail Sanders That Won't Break Your Budget

!±8± 2 Best Detail Sanders That Won't Break Your Budget

A good detail sander is a must for every carpentry and renovation project, however, finding one that meets your professional needs while also fitting your budget can be a discouraging process. Fortunately, Bosch and Dremel, brands known for their high-quality design, offer detail sanders with brilliant style and high-performance at prices that won't break your bank.

Dremel's Multi-Max is a true smooth operator that, despite an uncommonly good performance, costs craftsmen only about - 0. The Multi-Max 6300-01 offers craftsmen access into unreachable areas and details with superior precision. Additionally, with a 1.5 amp motor and variable speeds ranging from 10,000 - 21,000 OPM, the tool has big power for tougher applications and a huge speed range for optimized control and versatility. Its ergonomic and compact design provides optimal comfort, control and accounts for that sweet access into tight spaces. The tool's electronic feedback ensures consistent speed throughout every application and with a Quick Fit mechanism accessory changes are fast and simple. The tool is versatile, lightweight, precise, and can power through such a number of household and hobby projects that your options are virtually boundless. There is rarely a better tool to have on hand than this multi-functional fireball; with all the perks and performance of a much more expensive tool, not enough good can be said about the Multi-Max. Additionally, for a more comprehensive Multi-Max kit, the 6300-03 includes a few more accessories while still only pricing at about 5 - 0.

Bosch builds another detail sander that, with smooth handling and performance, will leave you looking for renovation projects. The 1294VSK corner detail sander kit is a seriously tough tool and accessory kit with the power, precision, and poise to sand into even the trickiest spaces. With an intense 2.3 amp motor and 13,000 - 19,000 OPM, this sander leaves behind the smoothest results with fast and simple operation. Its true-blue orbital motion and low vibration design leave surfaces with the most consistent, smooth, and uniform finishes, and to make your detailing experience all the more pleasant, the sander also features tool-free pad changes and an ergonomic construction. Comfortable and simple to use, the tool yields charmingly smooth and precise results, and with uncommon close-quarter access, this detail sander is perfect for all home and hobby applications. At 0 - 0 the 1294VSK is a bit more expensive than the Multi-Max, but with a bigger motor and a few more accessories, you certainly get what you pay for.

Each of these detail sanders is certain to help you achieve the most brilliant results, and the best part is, neither will cost you an arm and a leg.

Craftsman 12 Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool Model 09-17438 Review

!±8± Craftsman 12 Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool Model 09-17438 Review

I bought the Craftsman 12-Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool two months ago to test out and review.

Nextec Multi-Tool

I used the circular saw blade to trim a 1 X 6 out in the yard. I used the flush blade to cut the bottom of a door jamb so I could install tile in the bathroom. I used the carbide blade to clean out the grout so I could replace a 6 X 6 tile that I put in wrong. I used the scraper blade to remove some double sided tape so I could put in a new door weather seal. I used the sanding pad to sand a leg on an adirondack chair before I painted it. I used the rasp to change the angle on a chair leg brace.

I did all this without dragging out a cord, a sander, an angle grinder, a wood file, a putty knife, a circular saw or a hammer and chisel. I did all of these tasks easily and in a lot less time than it would normally take. I did all these tasks with just one tool!

There are a lot of similar multi-tools on the market. The Craftsman Multi-Tool is not the first and it is not the best, but it is the best value at only . And it's cordless! It is similar to the Bosch PS-50, Fein Multimaster, and Dremel Multi-Max. The Craftsman multi-tool is like the others and is even compatible with the Fein accessories but it's a lithium-ion cordless multi-tool for only (The Dremel Multi-Max is corded for ). And as a bonus, like the Fein Multimaster, it comes with an integrated dust bypass vacuum adapter so you can hook it up to your shop vac or dust collection system.

I don't consider the Craftsman Multi-tool as a heavy-duty tool. In fact the tool will get hot around the battery area if you use it on too large a task (3 to 4 batteries in a row.) It is just a great tool for those special small to medium jobs around the house that I have all the time. It is a great "around the house" tool. If you need a tool like this to work for you all day long or have a large project like scraping an entire house before painting you really should buy a heavier tool like the Fein Multi-Master.

NEXTEC Multi-Tool Features:

The Craftsman 12-Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool comes in a handy carrying case along with a 30 minute quick charger and six attachments. The Multi-Tool is powered by a 12-volt Lithium-Ion battery.

Some of the key features of this tool are:

15000 OPM/ 2.8 oscillation angle
LED work light
includes 6 accessories (blades and sanders)
Soft-grip Handle
Compact Ergonomic design
Integrated dust bypass with vacuum adapter
Powerful, compact motor
Secure accessory mount
Powered by 12 Volt Lithium-Ion battery
30-minute quick charger with LED charge indicator:

Quickly charges the battery and features a charge indicator that visually indicates the charging status.

Compact ergonomic design: ultra compact for use in tight spaces Lithium-Ion Power: Lighter weight, better performance and longer shelf life.

Weight: 1.8 lbs with battery Accessories I recommend buying an extra battery.

If you already own an Craftsman Auto Hammer or any of the NEXTEC Line you already have a spare. You can order spare battery and blades through ToolBoxHero (see link below)

Final Thoughts:

The Craftsman 12-Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool performed very well when using it the way it's meant to be used. This tool is not a replacement for the heavy-duty plug in versions like the Fein Multimaster. It is a great cordless multi-tool that will work very well around the house. The price really makes the Craftsman Multi-Tool shine!
